How to get involved

Through the mentoring process, hopefully you would have found yourself keen enough to join and contribute directly to the Working Group. Of course, if you know very clearly from the onset that you would like to join a specific working group, you could do so and not join the mentoring program.

At the NGN, we would recommend that unless you have very strong inclinations towards certain WG, it is better to start off your experience via our mentoring program as this would provide an advisor who would be able to make recommendations and advice pertaining to any WG or general Cigré issues. In addition, it could also make the process of joining a WG smoother as it would give the WG convenor a period of time to know you better and not to mention a reference for your mentor supporting your application.

As with any WG, the convenor of the group is directly in charge of overseeing the general operation of the WG and any request to join the WG would therefore have to be approved by him or her. The acceptance of any request would also hence be at the discretion of the convenor.

If you are interested in getting involved in a particular working group please contact the associated Study Committee regular member for further information. Please also fill out the application form with the relevant details and forward it the NGN.
