Programme

The following information is for archive only. Keep your eyes open for the next Paris Session

The NGN Event will be held as part of the biennial 2008 CIGRÉ Session at the Palais Des Congrès in Paris. NGN members presenting a poster at the event will have full access to the CIGRÉ Session

2008 CIGRÉ Session Structure:

  • Monday dedicated to two panels on broad topics: ‘Sustainability' and ‘Large disturbances'
  • Tuesday to Friday, four parallel one-day specialised Discussion Meetings. Papers are not presented individually by the authors during the Discussion Meetings. They are discussed by the delegates. The discussions are centred on a number of questions formulated in a ‘Special Report' which incorporates the gist of all the papers. Delegates participate through prepared or spontaneous contributions to the questions. A ‘Daily Summary of Discussions' for each Discussion Meeting is issued and available the next day.
  • A Technical Exhibition in the same location.

NGN involvement:

There will be two main NGN ‘Events' at the CIGRÉ Session.

1. Poster presentations at Technical Exhibition booth. A maximum of four NGN technical posters will be presented each day. NGN members must be available at the stand on the day on which their poster is being presented.

  • Shell stand (3m x 4m)
  • 3-4 technical posters/day (Max. total 16 posters)
  • 2 x NGN Information Posters displayed each day (Guide + Roadmap/FAQ)
  • All posters to be A1 Size (same as Launch Event)
  • Information sheets available at stand
  • comment/questions book for people to leave contact details for more detailed questions
  • Around 3-4 NGN members should be at the NGN stand during lunch and break times (the busiest periods of the exhibition). This number can be reduced during technical sessions. Presenters should look at the technical session timetable to identify a day which would best suit them for presentation of the poster – a final timetable for poster presentations will be finalised by the NGN steering committee.

**in order to present a poster at exhibition, NGN members must submit a technical paper detailing the work they wish to present. A paper selection committee will then select papers for presentation in poster format during the event. A maximum of 16 papers will be selected.

 2. Presentation at Electric Power Engineering Education Panel session

  • Two presentations, one general and one more specific on NGN activities.
  • The EPEE session is on Tuesday 26 th 14.30 – 18.00 in room 352AB.

Further details on the NGN Programme will follow.
